Wes Morrison is a songwriter, arranger, multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, mixer, and music producer* based in central/western Connecticut.
Hi. I'm Wes Morrison. If you are a solo artist or duo, I can help you create professional-sounding mixes of your songs, with any or all of the following services:
Songwriting advice (helping you finish a song, or tweak one you're not happy with)
Arranging/Orchestration (composing and recording parts for instruments you don't play, e.g. bass, drums, and more)
Recording your vocals and/or instruments (my equipment is portable, so if you have a workable acoustic environment, I can come to you)
Vocal pitch correction, if desired (like it or not, it's practically expected anymore, but I specialize in keeping it subtle and natural-sounding)
The term "music producer" has been used loosely in recent years. It used to be more of a managerial role, guiding the artist, picking songs, hiring musicians, mixers, et cetera,
not just "making beats." Of course, with today's technology, a single person can do A to Z, from writing, to recording, to creating final mixes.
So what kind of "music producer" am I? Very hands-on, I like to be involved in the creative process of taking a song from a simple demo to the final version, filling in
missing instruments, getting your input and feedback to make it a song YOU enjoy.
Sigh. "Mastering" is a term that's been misused lately. It's not just slapping some "mastering plugins" on the mix and tweaking knobs until it sounds good.
Mastering is a task best left to a specialist, who has years of experience and a pristine audio environment in which to listen critically to mixes.
However, if you are on a budget, yes, I can master for overall balance and loudness.
Contact information
I work mainly with artists in central/western Connecticut. However, I've also worked remotely with artists who sent me a temporary vocal track (quality not essential)
then recorded their final vocal track once my mix was done. If you are interested in my services, my email is: "wes morrison at juno dot com"
